| First Aid and Safety Patrol of Lebanon recently committed funding through its Employee Educational Assistance (EAP) to have Three (3) of its full-time Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s) attend Paramedic school.
The EMT’s will attend the Reading Area Community College Paramedic program that is co-sponsored by Susquehanna Valley Emergency Medical Services and is held at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center in West Reading Pennsylvania. The program began on Monday January 30, 2006 and the students are scheduled to take their National Registry Paramedic examination on August 15, 2006. Following successfully passing the National Registry Paramedic examination the new Paramedics will spend several weeks with a First Aid and Safety Patrol of Lebanon Field Training Officer (FTO) and then be ready to be placed on the First Aid and Safety Patrol of Lebanon provider schedule as a fully credentialed Paramedic with unrestricted medical command privileges.
The EMT’s will attend the Paramedic program full time (Monday through Friday from 0800 – 1600) and work as Emergency Medical Technicians for First Aid and Safety Patrol of Lebanon a few hours each week.
Anyone interested in becoming a Pennsylvania licensed Paramedic may contact Scott Paul at (717) 272-1234 of director@faspems.com
